Premier League Predictions: Liverpool vs Arsenal, Every Game Called + Weekend Acca
Liverpool vs Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday, Newcastle vs Everton on Monday night and score predictions for all 10 Premier League games, plus a four-leg acca at around 10/1.
Manchester City and Arsenal arrive at round nine level on 21 points, five clear of Brighton in third. That makes Sunday's trip to Anfield the biggest game of the weekend: Arsenal can go top alone, while Liverpool need a result to stay in touch with the front two.
Below are our score predictions for all ten Premier League games, the best bet in each and a four-leg acca. All times are CET.
Liverpool vs Arsenal (Sunday 17:30 CET)
Arsenal have the best defence in the league, having conceded just five goals in their first seven games, and they have not let in a goal in the Champions League so far. Liverpool are still dangerous at Anfield but have been less steady at the back than in their title season.
Prediction: Liverpool 0-1 Arsenal. Best bet: Arsenal to win at around 7/5 (2.40). If you want some cover, Arsenal draw no bet is about 1.75, and under 2.5 goals at around 1.90 fits a tight game between two careful sides.
Newcastle vs Everton (Monday 21:00 CET)
Everton beat Newcastle 3-1 in the EFL Cup last week, and Newcastle have lost four of their last six. Everton have only lost to Chelsea and Arsenal this season and look the more settled side, with striker Thierno Barry scoring seven goals in 11 starts.
Prediction: Newcastle 1-1 Everton. Best bet: Everton draw no bet at around 23/20 (2.15). Player bet: Barry to score at any time at around 19/10.
Saturday's results to check against our model
Our pre-match calls for Saturday: Chelsea 2-1 Man Utd (both teams to score), Man City 3-1 Brighton (City to win), Hull 1-1 Ipswich (draw), Coventry 1-0 Sunderland (Coventry draw no bet), Brentford 2-2 Nottingham Forest (draw), Bournemouth 2-0 Leeds (Bournemouth to win), Tottenham 2-0 Crystal Palace (Spurs to win) and Aston Villa 1-0 Fulham (Villa to win).
Bournemouth were our strongest pick: they came into the weekend on five straight wins, five clean sheets in a row and recent wins over Milan, Manchester United and Aston Villa. Check the Live scores page for every final score.
Our Premier League acca (around 10/1)
Man City to beat Brighton, Tottenham to beat Crystal Palace, Aston Villa to beat Fulham and Arsenal to win at Anfield. Four favourites or near-favourites, each matching our score prediction, combine to roughly 10/1.
Want a safer version? Swap Arsenal to win for Arsenal draw no bet. The return drops to around 7/1, but you get your stake back on that leg if Anfield ends level.
How we pick these bets
We look at form over the last five or six games, home and away splits, goals for and against, and team news. Then we compare our own price with the bookmakers' price and only back a selection when we think the price is too big.
