For: the best goal difference in the league, a squad scoring nearly 2.3 goals a game, the head-to-head still to come at home, and a run-in with only two genuinely difficult away days (Mjällby and Malmö).

Against: five defeats already, a habit of conceding at the wrong moments in derbies, and the simple fact that Sirius have looked the most consistent side in Sweden all season with a 16-3-3 record.

The honest verdict from the lads: Hammarby are a credible each-way style play rather than a confident title bet. The smarter stake may be the top-two market or the head-to-head fixture itself, where the price will be far more generous than the outright.
