Brasileirão Super Sunday: Fla-Flu, Gre-Nal and Derby Paulista Odds

Leaders Flamengo face Fluminense, Grêmio host Internacional and Palmeiras welcome Corinthians — all on Sunday 11 October. Palpites, odds and title-race predictions.

Brazilian football does not do quiet weekends, but Sunday 11 October is something special. Three of the country's greatest derbies are played on the same day: the Fla-Flu in Rio, the Gre-Nal in Porto Alegre and the Derby Paulista in São Paulo.

And the title race could not be tighter. After 28 rounds Flamengo lead with 60 points, Palmeiras are three behind on 57, and a group led by Athletico Paranaense (49), Cruzeiro and Fluminense (48 each) is fighting for the Libertadores places.

Flamengo x Fluminense – the leaders under pressure

The Fla-Flu kicks off at 17:30 Brasília time (22:30 CEST). Flamengo arrive as league leaders and favourites, but Fluminense sit fifth and need points to stay in the Libertadores race — they will not come to defend.

Palpite: Flamengo win or draw (double chance), with Both Teams to Score a strong angle in a derby that rarely stays tight.

Palmeiras x Corinthians – Derby Paulista

Also at 17:30 Brasília (22:30 CEST), Palmeiras host Corinthians knowing a win cuts the gap to the top if Flamengo slip. Palmeiras are relentless at home and Corinthians historically turn this fixture into a physical battle.

Palpite: Palmeiras to win, Under 2.5 goals. Derby Paulista matches are usually tense and low on goals, and cards markets are always worth a look.

Grêmio x Internacional – the Gre-Nal

The southern derby kicks off at the same time. Form goes out of the window in the Gre-Nal: it is one of the most intense rivalries in world football. The draw is often underpriced, and over 5.5 cards is a classic market here.

Also this week and next

Midweek round: Santos x Flamengo (Thursday 8 October) and Palmeiras x Bahia. Saturday 10 October: Vasco x Remo, São Paulo x Vitória. Sunday 11: Atlético-MG x Santos and Bahia x Mirassol. The following round (17–19 October) includes Athletico Paranaense x Palmeiras, Bahia x Flamengo and Fluminense x Santos — two crucial away trips for the title contenders.

Title odds: Flamengo remain favourites, but Palmeiras' run-in and the two leaders' tough away games on 18 October mean the race is far from over.
